MOTIVATION

how do yall get motivation to make cosplay? usually mine occurs right after cons but i cant crunch like i used to anymore  |

It comes and goes, honestly....most of the time I have to rely more on work ethic than motivation. (both of which i have very little of orz)
What I'm trying this year is just revisiting old unfinished passion projects and doing simpler stuff so I can teach myself the basics again. Once I re-do my foundation, I WILL be unstoppable!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sometimes you just have to sit with your fabric and start. Just....go. And then maybe you'll remember how much fun it is to work on stuff!! Having a clean workspace also helps. When my room is messy (which is all of the time oops) its harder to find motivation to want to do things, but if it's cleaner, it's easier! Also easier to clean up as you go lol

My real pro-strat is putting the yugioh dub on in the background because it's really easy to listen to while you work since they repeat everything 38 times in a row... I've been lacking a lot of motivation to do anything lately too, so something that does help me is making to do lists for a few weeks at a time of "ok, I'm going to do this on that day". If I can break down a BIG goal (make a cosplay) into like 25 smaller goals over the course of 3 weeks, it's a lot easier to get those little tasks done.  Here's one of my spreadsheets from this summer so you get the idea! |

maybe silly, but i watch a lot of cmvs for the con im about to go to and get all amped up on that hype juice
